A man accused of preying on vulnerable women has been slapped with multiple sex crime charges. The Portland Police Bureau has announced that a suspect has been taken into custody for sexually assaulting three women in the homeless community, and detectives are on the hunt for possible additional victims.

On a somber note, details emerged that Zachary L. Andrews, the indicted individual, allegedly targeted women who had little means to defend themselves - those without a roof over their heads. According to police reports, the indictments came down on April 10, after investigations linked Andrews to multiple assaults spanning from October 2021 to October 2022.

The U.S. Marshals stepped in to apprehend Andrews on April 24, leading to his subsequent lodging at the Multnomah County Detention Center. The charges confronting him include three counts each of Rape in the First Degree, Sex Abuse in the First Degree, Strangulation, and Assault in the Fourth Degree. The suspect is also charged with two counts of Sodomy in the First Degree, along with one count each of Unlawful Sexual Penetration in the First Degree, and Kidnapping in the First Degree.

While behind bars, Andrews faces a web of serious allegations, and the Portland Police urge others who may have fallen victim to come forward.
