Lower Haight Leftovers: Crime Blotter, New Trees, And A Vintage ViewPhoto: Andrew Dudley / Hoodline
Leftovers on a Monday? Yes, leftovers on a Monday.

First up: your hyperlocal crime blotter.

On Friday night just after midnight, a man who lives on Fell between Pierce and Scott reports having his laptop stolen from his home. He went to take a shower, and when he came out, his laptop was missing. There are currently no suspects.

Hoodline reader Tom writes in after having witnessed a purse-snatching this past Wednesday:

"We witnessed the aftermath of a purse snatching on Fillmore at Page today at about 12:30 PM. We didn't realize what had happened until it was too late unfortunately. Someone grabbed a purse, ran up fillmore and hopped in a car and sped away. As we walked down the street we realized the woman's purse had been stolen. Also 2 weeks ago on Tuesday night at around 11:30 pm my friend was robbed at gunpoint/baseball bat by a group of 5-6 young men. He filed a police report. Let people know to be on the lookout please!!"
Be on the lookout please.

The owners of Dolled and Dapper Salon at 320 Fillmore have experienced some vandalism recently:

"I'm not sure if anyone else has had vandalism happened to them, but we have been egged twice and a broken window (possible break in) in the last month or so. Already filed a police report for the break in, but doesn't seem there's much to do about the egg-ings, any advice?"
If anybody has advice of the serious and constructive variety, let us know.

And in non-criminal news, those trees that were cut down on Pierce a couple weeks ago? They've already been replaced:

DSF (formerly known as D-Structure) tweeted a throwback pic last week of the Discount Depot store that previously occupied 520 Haight Street:
Laura at upcoming Lower Haight bakery Choux is giving out different cream puff flavors every day from 5:30pm to 7pm. Swing by the shop at 248 Fillmore Street for your free sample (some of which are pictured at the top of this story).

And finally, Broke-Ass Stuart posted an interview recently with Lower Haight resident Neal Murray, who claims to have invented the Cosmopolitan cocktail.

Surely that's enough information to get your week started, no? Happy Monday.
