If you've been to Fred's spot at Haight & Masonic recently, you may have noticed that it's getting some interior upgrades.
We also saw a sign out front saying that the market is getting a deli, which seemed odd since they already had a modest deli operation. Had we just hallucinated the food component? As it turns out, the already-existing deli concept is being moved and upgraded.

The counter is now on the west side of the space, where the ice cream and tampons used to be located. The entrance is now framed with some drink cases and the ATM, and the ice cream cases block off a big empty space on the east side of the market where the new upgraded deli will live. Will it be something akin to Haight Street Market's Deli, we asked? "Better" was the taciturn reply, though it's still unknown exactly what the menu will look like.

Timeline on the new deli is a somewhat noncommittal "a couple weeks." We'll keep an eye on it, and have an update when the space is complete.
