Brace yourselves: great weather. In July. Dust out those blankets and bikinis and grab some beer, would you?

That means that the monthly Alvord Lake cleanup, at Alvord Lake this morning from 9 am to noon, should be glorious.

Then, Second Act Theater is announcing a new summer lineup, including comedy, Shakespeare, and films in the event hall.

Don't forget tomorrow is the San Francisco Marathon: more on that later. Meanwhile, traffic! Plan early morning outings in advance.

A tipster this week sent us a heads-up about a filming survey circulated around the 'hood. The notice indicates that filming will close some streets between Haight, Buena Vista West, Masonic, and Ashbury Heights from August 20 to August 22. So far we've been unable to confirm the details of the project, which is operating under the name "BigFoot," with any of the production entities involved, but we'll keep you posted as we find out more.

Finally, City Optix is closing its Haight Street location (1685) and consolidating records and sales into its Chestnut Street location.

That's it this week, kids. Watch that sunburn.
