Upper Haight Whole Foods Reopens After Morning StabbingJuan Carlos Guerrero / ABC 7
The Whole Foods at Haight and Stanyan is back open this morning after a security guard was stabbed in the arm by a shoplifter. The suspect was holding a shopping basket and leaving the store at the time, police told the Chronicle
The attacker then went into Golden Gate Park, followed by a witness, according to the report. Eventually police captured the suspect, a knife, and the stolen items.

We’re guessing that the security guard was stabbed while trying to prevent the theft, but the details are still a little murky. A Whole Foods employee told us this was a police matter without sharing more details, and we’re waiting to hear back from the inspector on the case. The security guard was taken to the hospital for treatment.

The store was temporarily closed for a bit this morning as firefighters cleaned up the blood, per ABC 7’s Juan Carlos Guerrero, but it's all back to normal now

We'll update this post with any new details, but otherwise, we hope the security guard makes a swift recovery, and that you stay safe out there.
