Weekend Roundup: Sales, HVNA Updates And A Souvla RavePhoto: Souvla/Facebook
Enjoying your Labor Day weekend so far? Here are some tasty tidbits from the neighborhood to savor, whether you're sticking around the 'hood or hightailing it out of town this weekend.

First, in food news, Souvla got a rare rave review from SF Weekly critic Anna Roth, who copped to a slight obsession with the restaurant's "delightful" pork salad, enjoyed the "tangy and thick and slightly sweet" frozen yogurt and hinted at future expansion plans from owner Charles Bililies.

Meanwhile, Christopher Elbow Chocolate's Hayes Street store is now offering a St. George Spirits collaboration piece, blending the local distillery's Spiced Pear Liqueur with caramel to create a jewel-like treat.

Getting excited for SF Jazz's new season? Check out these beguiling pole banners going up around town.

Mark your calendars for Saturday, October 11th, when the Rose Street block party will take place between Market and Gough. Expect a silent auction to fundraise for the arts in Hayes Valley, plus live music, food, drinking and fun.

Wondering what happened with the traffic calming issues discussed at last month's HVNA meeting? HVNA's Gail Baugh has stated that the group has assembled and prioritized a list of 12 action items, which have been submitted to the SFMTA and are pending review from London Breed's office.

Lastly, if you are in the neighborhood, look out for a bonanza of Labor Day sales at local spots like Acrimony, Alternative Apparel, Amour Vert and many, many more.

Happy weekending, wherever it may lead you!
