Giants Fever On Divis: Where To Watch The World SeriesPhoto: 4505 Meats
In case you haven’t heard, the Giants have made it to the World Series. That means that starting today at 5:07pm, the city will collectively obsess over each game until we can (fingers and toes crossed) once again celebrate our title as champions for the third time in five years.

Regardless of your hometown team, however, there’s some fun stuff cooking up in the neighborhood for World Series viewers to enjoy. Starting today, we've got the info on where you should plan to get your baseball on on Divis.

For starters, the die hard meat-and-baseball fans over at 4505 Meats  will be hardwood-smoking a 125-pound half-hog for each game of the series, and will be showing the action on a big screen TV in their patio area. They plan to provide sports fans with blankets, but they encourage folks to layer up as well.

Ryan Farr and company will be smoking the swine outside in a contraption called the “Pig Rig”, which is basically a large wood-fired oven on a trailer. As a treat, they'll be offering a different flavor than usual: a jerk spice rub, finished with a chili-pineapple mop. They will also be serving their Gigantes Dog, which they first started making back in 2010. It’s a 100 percent grass-fed beef sausage, studded with pickled jalapeños and cheddar.

“This is the third time that the Giants are going back to the World Series since we started the company, and we’re all so pumped,” Farr told us. “It’s a tough series for me, as I’m originally from Kansas City, and I grew up going to Royals games and have a lot of great memories from that stadium. But I left Kansas City at a pretty young age, and now I bleed black and orange — a Giants fan through and through."

Along with the hog and the dog, they will have their entire menu and beer selection available, so head on over with an empty stomach and stake out a seat with your buddies.

If you’re feeling the outside set-up, but not quite in the mood for BBQ, head across the street to La Urbana 's El Mercado outdoor dining area. There, the La Urbana crew will be showing the game on a big screen, and it just happens to be ... Taco Tuesday! Enjoy their tacos for just $2 a pop from 5pm to 9:30pm.

In need of yet another outdoor viewing area? Swing over to Ziryab and watch the game out on the patio, complete with heat lamps. Ziryab's regular happy hour specials will be available 5pm to 6:30pm, and its weekly Tuesday special will be in full effect, so look out for a selection of signature cocktails for $5 apiece all night long.

If you feel like watching your team win in an artsy nightclub setting, Madrone will be projecting every game on its enormous screen, piping full sound through its system and serving $1 off drafts and wells until 7pm. “The sound will be loud enough to enjoy, and we will be throwing a big party after we kick ‘Royal’ ass,” owner Spike Krouse told us.

As expected, all of your other favorite watering holes will also be showing the games, including Waziema, The Page, Bar 821, Mini Bar, and Fly Bar (which just added a 64-inch TV), so wherever you land, make sure to get there early. Go Giants!
