Nabila's Gets A Full Liquor SelectionPhotos: Rose Garrett/Hoodline
If you're used to stopping by Nabila's Health Foods for beer and wine, you may have noticed a shiny new addition to the store's beverage selection this week. The area behind the counter, previously home to a variety of odds and ends, has relaunched with wooden shelves and a brand-new liquor selection.

According to owner Ramiz Yousef, the change was unveiled on Friday, though it's been in the works for a while. It's no small feat to secure a liquor license, but Yousef was ultimately able to claim the license left over after the closure of Anna's Market in September 2013, and he's hoping the addition of liquor will help to serve his customers' needs a little bit better.

Survey the selection, and you'll notice a solid variety of spirits that transcends your typical corner store brands. Yousef says he's looking to source higher-end selections to fit the neighborhood, and his distributor also serves selective clients like Bi-Rite.

Take a squint at the selections below, and see if you spot any favorites:

The uppermost shelf is still empty as Yousef waits on his top-shelf bottles to come in, but for now, the liquor is officially flowing at Nabila's.

Don't see what you want? Yousef is hoping to get customer requests for what they'd like to see on offer, and he says he's already stocked about half of his selection based on recommendations and requests from his clientele, so don't be shy if you've got something specific you'd like to see in stock.
