Roller Skate With The Sisters Of Perpetual Indulgence TonightChurch of 8 Wheels
Sure, you could watch the Giants game tonight.

Or you could hang out in an abandoned church full of queer nuns roller skating in Halloween costumes.

Better yet, do both.

Tonight from 7pm to 10pm, local icons the Sisters of Perpetual Indulgence invite you to a roller skating party at the Church of 8 Wheels, at the corner of Fillmore and Fell. There will be music, food from Naked Chorizo, raffle prizes, and a Halloween costume contest.

The whole shebang will cost you just $10 at the door (plus $5 skate rentals), with a portion of proceeds benefiting LYRIC, a local group that helps mentor and support LGBTQ youth and their families.

This all goes down at the Church of 8 Wheels, the skating mecca occupying the former home of the Sacred Heart Church.

As we profiled last fall, the first skating party was held in the church on November 7th, 2013. Now, nearly a year later, the space hosts regular weekly skating events, including  kids' nights on Thursdays, skating lessons on Saturday afternoons, and LGBT nights on Tuesdays.
