Tomorrow: Record Store Day In The Lower Haight (And Beyond)

Tomorrow, we're going to see some records.

It's the return of the annual celebration that is Record Store Day, in which participating shops around the world offer discounts, special releases, giveaways, and in-store surprises. And here in the record store-endowed Lower Haight, there will be no shortage of vinyl enthusiasm.

Groove Merchant Records (687 Haight St.): Cool Chris will have both vintage LPs and special Record Store Day releases on hand, and a surprise in-store guest starting around 3pm.

Vinyl Dreams (593 Haight St.): From 11am to 9pm, Mike Bee and his fellow Dreamers will have more than a dozen exclusive Record Store Day titles for sale, plus a lineup of DJs (Jeno, Matrixxman, Primo, EULA and more) spinning all day long, plus "drinks and good vibes."

Rooky Ricardo's Records (448 Haight St.): Dick Vivian and crew are planning some as-yet-unspecified discounts for the big day, and may have a special mystery guest on hand as well. The shop's open from noon to 6pm.

Jack's Record Cellar (254 Scott St.): The neighborhood's most mercurial record shop is typically only open on Saturday afternoons from about 2pm until 7pm. We don't know if Wade has anything special on tap for tomorrow, but it's certainly worth swinging by the corner of Page and Scott to find out.

And if that's not enough, wander up to the Upper Haight, where Amoeba (1855 Haight St.) will have exclusive releases, gift bags, DJs, ticket giveaways, and a 20% sale off posters, turntables, and used DVDs. It's open from 10:30am to 8pm.

Then, spend the rest of your day frolicking with puppies and cuddling goats. It's going to be a pretty good Saturday.
