As we reported last month, cycling gym SoulCycle has been in the process of renovating the interior of the former West Coast Leather/Diesel/Bank of America building at 400 Castro St.

Now, SoulCycle has announced the opening date for its third San Francisco location: Thursday, June 25th, just in time for Pride.

To promote the opening and reach out to the community, SoulCycle plans to have a presence in both the Pride Parade (June 28th) and Frameline39 International LGBTQ Film Festival (June 18-28).

"We are having our first-ever float during any Pride Parade, which is so exciting for us," said SoulCycle Senior Public Relations Manager Vicky Land. "It will have bikes and instructors on it, so we're thrilled to see how it turns out."

"We also became a sponsor for Frameline because we really want to show our local support for the community," Land explained.

Lately, crews have been repainting the exterior of the building as construction continues on the interior, which will house a 50-bike studio, locker rooms, and a merchandise and clothing area where, as in other SoulCycle locations, customers will be able to buy a variety of clothing and other items. "We produce a new clothing line each month, as well as our 'Resort' and 'Holiday' collections," Land said. "Many riders wear our mix of active and leisure clothing as a sign of pride."

We asked Land about creating a new location in the historic building. "The space is so unique compared to many of the modern buildings we typically operate in. We're excited what our design team has come up with, given the parameters of the space."

No word on instructors and scheduling yet, but we're told that SoulCycle will release more information closer to the June 25th opening date.

As mentioned in our previous article, an opening party is planned, but there's no firm date yet. Stay tuned for more details as the Castro's busy month of June approaches.
