At Long Last, Alembic's Expansion Is Taking ShapePhotos: Amy Stephenson/Hoodline

We've been following Alembic's renovation since it kicked off in early 2014, through kitchen closingsre-openings and construction updates. Now, the new area being added to dining room is finally nearing completion, and Alembic (a Hoodline advertiser), will be closed for the Fourth of July weekend for additional work.

Remember when the new area, which is located between Alembic and Second Act, looked like this?

We popped in recently, and the new space is now framed out and starting to look like it could be real dining area soon:

Workers are currently framing in some booths on the lefthand side for a more private dining experience than Alembic currently offers. Our source told us they're planning to add some new booths to the existing dining space as well.

Here's a look at the design for the new four-top booths:

As for timeline on the lengthy project, owner Dave McLean assured us that "we're definitely in the home stretch, and that's pretty exciting."

There's no hard date for the finished product, but McLean says we'll be the first to know, so stay tuned for news on when Alembic's long-awaited expansion will debut.
