At about 1:15pm today, roughly 6,100 PG&E customers in North Beach lost power, according to the Examiner. While 2,800 of them had their power restored in five minutes, another 3,300 remain without electricity.
A spokeswoman for PG&E told the Examiner that the cause of the outage is unknown, but that the agency is at work to fix it. On its website, PG&E currently estimates that the power should be restored around 7:15pm.
Update, 4:05: According to the outage map, power has been restored in full. The Examiner reports that "a third-party dig-in that struck underground electrical lines" was the cause of the outage.
