Anti-Theft Sign In Alamo Square Hacked, Rewritten In Praise Of #YogabutPhoto: Charlene Li

Well, it took a full seven days for someone to hack into the large new CalTrans sign in Alamo Square, but it's finally happened.

Sunday evening, a new message appeared. Instead of advising visitors to "LOCK CAR AVOID THEFT", the sign offered an appreciative nod to the physique of yoga practitioners. (Alternatively, it could be in reference to a local graffiti tag.)

The sign was installed last weekend, perhaps in response to an increase in property crimes and vehicular break-ins in the area. No word yet on who initially approved the sign and its original message, but we're looking into it.

Update, 3:20pm: The sign has disappeared.
