Days after a human skull was discovered during a renovation at Haight & Central, a hand grenade was unearthed in Cole Valley.

According to police, the explosive was found yesterday morning, when a man was working on a landscaping project on the 100 block of Carl. He unearthed the grenade while digging a hole in the yard (it's unclear from the police report whether it was a front or backyard.)

The device was rendered safe by Explosive Ordnance Disposal services. And, so far, that's all we know—but of you happen to know more about the type of grenade or circumstances around the discovery, let us know in the comments.
