Inner Sunset Week: Hidden Garden Steps Cleanup, Succulent Sale, SFWA Exhibit, MorePhoto: Flickr/Mike Carrick

The long-term forecast suggests a sunny weekend, but because Mother Nature doesn't make promises, we've uncovered a mix of indoor and outdoor doings around the Inner Sunset.

On Saturday, interested parties can join the monthly cleanup of the Hidden Garden Steps. Created as a public art volunteer project, the steep, winding stairway connecting Kirkham and Lawton is decorated with mosaics and native plants, all created and maintained by members of the community.

Take note: neighbors near the steps have reported that car break-ins have increased in recent months. The area is well-served by Muni, but if you decide to drive, make sure to empty your car of items. As police from Park Station will tell you, even leaving a charging cable or coffee mug behind is tempting fate.

Tonight, San Francisco Women Artists presents Motion, a juried show at its Irving Street gallery. The visual works featured in this month's rotating exhibition all feature kinetic themes and motifs.

The San Francisco Succulent and Cactus Society is holding its yearly sale at the County Fair Building on Saturday and Sunday. Ideal for indoors, succulents tend to stay dormant in cold weather before exploding into action during warmer months, so the sale is well-timed.
