It's an exciting week ahead for neighborhood storytellers. On top of celebrating 826 Day and signing up volunteers to tutor students at 826 Valencia's new location, the neighborhood will be playing host to a popular podcast.

This Thursday, August 25th from 6:30-9pm, the Tenderloin Museum is opening its doors to Arrvls, an "audio documentary program" that explores migration and transformation through everyday people's stories of enduring unexpected changes.

Host Jonathan Hirsch started the show while struggling to make ends meet after moving from San Francisco to New York. He found solace in the stories of others' difficult experiences, and began recording and sharing them, for all to benefit.

On Thursday night, Hirsch is teaming up with the TL Museum, Larkin Street Youth Center, and Curry Senior Center to record his first live show—focused on the continuous changes sweeping through the Tenderloin and its impact on the area's diverse residents. Drop by to see the show unfold in person before it appears online.

Ongoing public art installation Temporal Cities will also be on hand to collect stories from those who feel inspired to share their own.
