With a heat advisory this weekend, summer is here with a vengeance. Head to the beach, or stay indoors to cool down in the absence of fog. Either way, Outer Sunset residents have a great week ahead.
Today, learn how to frame your artwork or keepsakes with Artisans of San Francisco, part of the "Discover Your District" series hosted by Sup. Katy Tang's office.
Afterwards, Parkside Library will host an author appearance by Ahmed Salah, an Egyptian revolutionary who now resides in San Francisco. He'll be reading from his book You Are Under Arrest for Masterminding the Egyptian Revolution.
Salah's appearance is part of a month of events celebrating Middle Eastern culture at the SFPL. Other events include crafting your own hamsa or learning to cook Iranian and other Middle Eastern cuisines.
Sunday's highlight is a silent disco at Ocean Beach. With hundreds of participants merrily dancing away—quietly, this will be a fantastic way to enjoy the projected high temperatures.
On Monday, Sup. Tang's office will host a workshop on tenant and landlord rights at Grace Lutheran Church on Ulloa and 33rd Avenue. Participants will be able to have their questions answered by tenant/landlord attorneys.
Here are all the events coming up this week in the Outer Sunset. For more fun around the city, check out our full events calendar at hoodline.com/events. If you have an event you'd like to add to our calendar, you can submit it here for free.
