With fog rolling in, it's starting to feel like fall. And that means the return of PROXY's free Fall Film Festival, which promises outdoor screenings of indie movies and short films on five Friday evenings, spread throughout October and into early November.

Films will begin at 7:30pm, and a prescreening happy hour may kick off at 5:30—which is around the time that ambitious attendees might want to stake out space in front of the large screen, located at Hayes & Octavia. (Update: PROXY has confirmed that there'll be a happy hour at 5:30pm with Biergarten and Vive la Tarte.)

Like past events, there'll be a prohibition on outside booze (though you can purchase beer there). Plan to bring your own blankets and low chairs, and check up the lineup below to see which events you're most excited about (movie descriptions are from films' official websites).

Oct. 7th: Morris From America

A heartwarming and crowd-pleasing coming-of-age comedy with a unique spin, Morris from America centers on Morris Gentry (Markees Christmas, in an incredible breakout performance) a 13-year-old who has just relocated with his single father, Curtis (Craig Robinson) to Heidelberg, Germany. Morris, who fancies himself the next Notorious B.I.G., is a complete fish-out-of-water—a budding hip-hop star in an EDM world. To complicate matters further, Morris quickly falls hard for his cool, rebellious, 15-year-old classmate Katrin. Morris sets out against all odds to take the hip-hop world by storm and win the girl of his dreams.

Oct. 14th: The Fits

THE FITS is a psychological portrait of 11-year-old Toni—a tomboy assimilating into a tight-knit dance team in Cincinnati’s West End. Enamored by the power and confidence of this strong community of girls, Toni eagerly absorbs routines, masters drills, and even pierces her own ears to fit in. When a mysterious outbreak of fainting spells plagues the team, Toni’s desire for acceptance is twisted. [Update, 10/14: This screening has been cancelled due to rain, and will be rescheduled.]

Oct. 21st: Tickled

Journalist David Farrier stumbles upon a mysterious tickling competition online. As he delves deeper he comes up against fierce resistance, but that doesn’t stop him getting to the bottom of a story stranger than fiction.

Oct. 28th: Shorts Night

In keeping with past festivals, this installment will feature a selection of independent film shorts to be determined.

Nov. 4th: Captain Fantastic

Deep in the forests of the Pacific Northwest, a father (Viggo Mortensen) devoted to raising his six kids with a rigorous physical and intellectual education is forced to leave his paradise and enter the world, beginning a journey that challenges his idea of what it means to be a parent.

PROXY is still fundraising to support its efforts, with a tiered rewards system for contributors: $35 earns you two beers and "heartfelt gratitude," $75 earns a complementary large turf mat for all five nights, and $150 nets VIP seating in the form of turf and two chairs. If you're interested in contributing, here's the link to donate.
