Tonight at Alamo Elementary School, located on 23rd Avenue between Clement and California streets, the Housing Rights Committee and a host of other local organizations are hosting a District 1 candidates' forum, featuring all 10 candidates for D1 supervisor.

The candidates—David E. Lee, Sherman D'Silva, Andy Thornley, Jason Jungreis, Jonathan Lyens, Richie Greenberg, Sandra Lee Fewer, Brian J. Larkin, Marjan Philhour, and Samuel Kwong—will be at the school for a 6:30-9pm forum on the issues that affect District 1, which encompasses the Richmond District, Lone Mountain, Golden Gate Park, and USF.

According the HRC's Richmond District director, Joseph Smooke, who's hosting the panel, each candidate will have a minute each to answer one of two questions before the discussion is opened to a broader Q&A session.

Afterwards, attendees will have an opportunity to break into 10 small groups for speed-dating rounds with the candidates.

Smooke said the questions and discussion will cover a range of hot local issues: housing and affordability, homelessness, displacement, small business stabilization, transit, bicycle and pedestrian infrastructure, and stabilization for marginalized communities.

This is your chance to meet the candidates and ask them about the things that matter to you.
