Ready or not, here comes the holiday season.

Tonight is the 2016 TEL-HI Thanksgiving Dinner, which is a free event that brings together neighbors and community groups from all around North Beach, Chinatown, Fisherman’s Wharf, Russian Hill and Telegraph Hill. Everyone is welcome, and the first seating usually runs from 5:30-6:15pm, with the second from 6:15-7:30pm.

The holiday festivities continue Friday evening with the 30th anniversary of the Embarcadero lighting ceremony. One, Two, Three and Four Embarcadero Center will flick on 17,000 lights, before a fireworks show along the Embarcadero. The event begins at 4pm with a visit with Santa and a special appearance by Mickey Mouse.

If you miss the Embarcadero lighting ceremony on Friday, there's the Pier 39 Tree Lighting ceremony on Saturday starting at 2pm. Santa will show up along with more music and festivities, culminating with the lighting of a 60-foot tree at 6pm.

Lastly, if you need a blast from the past (or perhaps a break from the holiday season already?), Fiddler's Green (1333 Columbus Ave.) is celebrating its re-opening on Saturday, starting at 7:30pm. There will be giveaways, drink specials and traditional Irish song and dance to be enjoyed by returning patrons, who were saddened when the bar closed suddenly last year.
