A life-threatening injury in a shooting headlined a number of violent incidents over the weekend in Bayview, many of which involved guns.

The most notable incident took place on Saturday, November 5th around midnight at West Point and Middle Point, when SFPD responded to a ShotSpotter activation. While police found no trace of either suspects or victims at the shooting site, the first victim, a 34-year-old man, transported himself to the hospital, and was admitted at 12:08am with life-threatening injuries.

A second victim, 27, arrived to the same hospital at 12:39am, and was admitted with non-life-threatening injuries. Police were unable to comment on any suspects in the case.

Three More Shootings Of Note

SFPD responded to three more ShotSpotter activations in the department's Bayview District (which encompasses much of the city's southeast) over the weekend. The first occurred on Friday, November 4th at 8:32pm on the 1300 block of Quesada, where police found one bullet casing.

A second incident occurred just hours later at the corner of Barneveld and McKinnon streets, around 12:50am, when police found four bullet casings. The drivers of a gray vehicle and black SUV were reported as the suspects, but there is currently no report of any victims.

Shots were heard a third time on the evening of November 5th, on the 100 block of Cameron Way. This time, SFPD discovered three bullet holes in the window of a 30-year-old woman's home.

"ShotSpotters are definitely beneficial in letting us know what’s happening in any neighborhood," said SFPD representative Ofc. Giselle Talkoff. "Every once in a while, it’s not an actual gun that was shot, but it’s usually accurate."

Other Violent Incidents: Stabbing, Jumping Of Teen By 18 Men

In addition to the four shootings, two other violent crimes of note occurred in the district over the weekend.

Yesterday at 11:29am, a 26-year-old man was stabbed at the corner of Oakdale and Lane streets by an unidentified man whose age has not been identified. Police say the pair had met up for a narcotics transaction. The victim is in non-life-threatening condition.

And on Friday, November 4th at 10pm, a 15-year-old boy was jumped by 18 men at the corner of Silver and San Bruno avenues. The victim lost consciousness and was transported to the hospital. His condition is unknown.
