After 5 Years, The Corner Store Shutters At Geary & MasonicPhoto: DennyLee L./Yelp

Geary & Masonic restaurant and bar The Corner Store has shuttered, after five years in business.

As Inside Scoop reported earlier this week, the bar and restaurant announced its impending closure online.

“It is with heavy hearts that we must announce the closure of The Corner Store,” wrote owners Ezra Berman and Miles Palliser on Facebook. “It has been a labor of love over the last five years, and we are truly grateful to have been able to serve you all.”

The two also operate SoMa’s Lord George and Divisadero San Francisco Athletic Club.

In a note left on the restaurant’s website, Berman and Palliser cited larger economic circumstances in the Corner Store's demise:

“We feel it is important to mention, and for us all to take note, that there are changes happening in this city and state that are making it very hard for small businesses and especially restaurants to survive.

We have been sad over the last few years to see so many great establishments close, and now we are very sad to have joined the club.”

The Corner Store opened in 2012, and revamped its menu last summer. Its space was previously home to Hukilau.

We don’t yet know what will move into the corner property on Masonic and Geary, but we'll keep you in the loop. If you know what's going on, shoot us a text at (415) 200-3233.
