Here’s a look at recently reported crimes in the Bayview Police District, which includes Potrero Hill, Dogpatch, Bayview and Hunters Point. All reports come from SFPD's daily crime recaps and are still being investigated, unless otherwise noted.

Argument Leads To Gunfire At Muni Bus Stop

On May 25 at 12:35am on the corner of Silver and San Bruno Avenues, a 48-year-old man pulled a gun on a 50-year-old man while the two were arguing at a bus stop. As the victim fled, the suspect ran after him firing shots, striking him.

The victim transported himself to the hospital where he was treated for non life-threatening injuries.

Suspect in Custody After Home Invasion, Others Remain At Large

On May 22nd at 11pm, officers responded to a home invasion on the 2100 block of Quesada. The investigation led to an officer-involved shooting, the arrest of one suspect and a neighborhood-wide search for other involved suspects.

Police are hosting a town hall tomorrow night at Bayview Opera House to give attendees updated information about this incident.

Front Yard Grass Fire

On May 22 at 12:38pm, two young children set grass on fire in the area of Innes Avenue and Arelious Walker Drive. SFFD responded to the scene quickly and extinguished the blaze.

Dogpatch Office Worker Robbed

Around noon on May 20, a 27-year-old woman was sitting in an office on the 1000 block of Minnesota Street when two suspects, a man and woman in their thirties, entered the office and demanded money.

The victim did not see a gun, but the female robber ordered the male suspect to shoot the victim. After she handed over her money, both suspects fled on foot in an unknown direction.

Woman Robbed At Knifepoint While Exiting Car

On May 12 at 5:09pm on the 1300 block of Shafter Avenue, a woman was exiting her vehicle with money in her hand when she was approached by a 32-year-old female who claimed to have a knife.

After the suspect threatened to stab the woman if she didn’t hand over the money, the victim complied, and the suspect fled on foot.

Man From Oakland Murdered in Bayview

On May 9 at 6pm, we reported that 23-year old Eduardo Tay from Oakland was fatally shot in the area of Palou Avenue and Quint Street.

Six Suspects Arrested After Firing Gun At Vehicle

On May 9 on the corner of Silver and Palou, six suspects in their 20’s were detained by SFPD around 11:05pm. One of the suspects allegedly attempted to shoot a 23-year-old man who was driving his car, but only struck the vehicle.

All suspects fled to a car where they attempted to flee and discard their handguns before being located and arrested by SFPD.

Man Jumped By Eight Kids During Water Fight

On May 4 at 7:16pm on the corner of Felton and Holyoke Avenues, eight kids (ages unknown) were having a water fight at the park when a 30-year-old man reprimanded them for being too close to him and his son.

All eight minors reportedly assaulted the man, who was transported to the hospital and treated for minor injuries.

Mugger Snatches Gold Necklace

On April 28 at 3:40pm, a 47-year-old woman was walking near the intersection of Newhall Street and Palou Avenue when a 18-year-old man ran up to her and snatched a gold chain necklace that she was wearing. The suspect fled on foot.

The Bayview Police Station holds a community meeting on the first Tuesday of each month at 201 Williams Ave. The next meeting is June 6.
