A woman who hailed a ride last night in the Tenderloin was robbed and forced out of her vehicle, according to a police report.

This morning at 1:30am, a 42-year-old woman hailed a vehicle on the 500 block of O’Farrell Street. When she reached her destination, the driver, a 35-year-old male, reportedly took her wallet, “removed her property and forced her out of the vehicle” before driving away.

The woman wasn’t injured during the incident, and no arrests were made.

We contacted police to learn if the suspect was driving a taxi or a car with a ride-hailing service, but a department spokesperson said SFPD does not release that information as a matter of policy.

If you have any information about this case, contact the police anonymously via the department's tip line at 415-575-4444, or by texting TIP411, starting the message with "SFPD."

[Update: 12:21pm] SFPD spokesperson Ofc. Robert Rueca contacted Hoodline to say that the suspect is a taxi driver, but would not disclose which company he was driving for.
