Here's a recap of notable crimes that have occurred in the neighborhood since our last roundup at the end of July. Unless otherwise noted, all details come from SFPD reports.

Argument Between Two Men Ends With Stabbing

On August 25th at 2:19am, a 49-year-old man and a 30-year-old man were arguing on the 1000 block of Market Street. The 30-year-old man then stabbed the 49-year-old man with a knife and fled on a bicycle southbound on Market Street.

The victim suffered a non-life threatening stab wound and was transported to a hospital; no arrests were made.

Man Struck From Behind By Unknown Suspect

On August 22nd at 10:30pm, a 46-year-old man was struck from behind with an unknown object and knocked to the ground on the 600 block of Larkin Street.

The unknown suspect then removed a suit jacket, watch, wallet and a cell phone from the victim and fled with his property on foot. The victim suffered non-life-threatening injuries during the encounter.

Man Stabbed While Protecting Homeless Person From Harassment

On August 17th, a man who was reportedly protecting a homeless person from harassment was stabbed by assailants near the corner of Eddy and Hyde streets around 9:50pm. The victim was transported to a hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. Read more about it in our story.

Purse Robbery With A Knife

Two suspects, both 20 to 25-year-old men, approached a 35-year-old woman at Jones and Market streets on August 17th at 1:35am. One suspect brandished a knife and demanded the woman's property.

The victim gave him her purse containing a cell phone and a wallet with money and cards. The suspects fled the scene on foot.

Arrest After Attempted Strangling 

At 11:44pm on August 14th, a 43-year-old man was injured after someone attempted to asphyxiate him during an aggravated assault on the 300 block of Ellis Street.

Police arrested a suspect and transported the victim to a hospital with non-life-threatening injuries; more in our story.

Woman Sets Building Exterior On Fire

On the 100 block of Golden Gate Avenue, a 31-year-old woman lit newspapers on fire on August 11th at 6:15am, setting parts of the building's exterior on fire. Officers arrested the woman.

Assailant Pushes Woman Against Wall, Steals Her Cellphone

On August 7th, a 42-year-old man pushed a 49-year-old woman on the 600 block of Larkin Street against a wall. The incident occurred at 8:05pm. The suspect took the woman's cellphone and fled the scene in a vehicle. 

Man Robbed Of Lunch Money On Market St.

A 45-year-old man pulled out his money to pay for his food on the 1200 block of Market Street on August 1st at 12pm. Then, a 45-year-old woman grabbed the money from his hand, pushed him and fled.

Hot Prowl Burglary Through Open Window

A 44-year-old woman walked into her room on the 500 block of Larkin Street on August 1st at 10:30am. She noticed that a 40 to 45-year-old man was reaching through her opened bedroom window. The suspect took toiletries and sunglasses from a nearby dresser and fled via the fire escape.

Key Card, Cell Phone Robbery

On July 31st at 9:20pm a 20 to 30-year-old man approached a 27-year-old man from behind on the 800 block of Market Street. The suspect then took the victim's cell phone and key card and fled the scene on foot. 

Tenderloin Station Community Meeting

SFPD's Tenderloin Station hosts its monthly community meeting on Tuesday, August 29th at 6pm at 631 O'Farrell St.
