6 Events For A Fun & Affordable Bayview WeekendPhoto: San Francisco Shipyard

This weekend, the city's sunniest district is hosting events that celebrate the literary and culinary arts, along with a major street fair, art-inspired mini-golf, and other attractions that won't break the bank.

Tonight at 6pm, Auntie April’s Chicken, Waffles & Soulfood is hosting authors Malik Wade and Tyson Amir for Two Authors, One Community, aimed at readers under 21.

The duo will discuss their success in overcoming obstacles as black men in underserved neighborhoods like the Bayview. The first 50 attendees will receive a complimentary meal, as well as a copy of each author's book.

Saturday, the San Francisco Shipyard presents The Launch in partnership with FivePoint.

The street fair celebrates the waterfront development of the Shipyard and Candlestick communities. Attendees can expect a lineup of live acts headlined by Miami Horror, market vendors, food, drinks and maker demonstrations.

The event is free to attend and the first 250 who check in will receive a free drink ticket; 21 and over.

Improve your golf swing at Now Hunters Point's by putting through a maze of Bayview themed, artist-created mini-golf obstacles located at Jennings Street and Cargo Way during Putt Putt Art N Stuff.

Read on for more doings around the Bayview in the next few days.
