'MIXT' Casual Eatery Comes To Cow HollowChoose your own protein adventure "Market Plates." | Photos: MIXT

MIXT—the fast-casual restaurant known for grain bowls and salads, with outposts throughout the FiDi and Los Angeles—is poised to open its 10th location and first "neighborhood" store Wednesday in Cow Hollow (3130 Fillmore at Pixley)

The eatery is the latest addition to local food chain Good Food Guys, which also runs Split American Kitchen.

“We’re beyond excited to bring MIXT’s delicious, sustainable, and seasonal food   to Cow Hollow,” CEO Leslie Silverglide—who lives in neighboring Russian Hill—said in a statement.

“We’re looking forward to serving the growing number of San Franciscans looking for farm-fresh lunch, dinner, and weekend meals that fit their health-conscious lifestyles.”

The most notable differences with the new MIXT space are the Market Plates—first introduced at the Yerba Buena location—as well as its evening hours, Silverglide told Hoodline over the phone.

The Fillmore spot will be the only MIXT location open daily and will also serve dinner until 9pm.

"We have an extended format with an additional menu category called "Market Plates," Silverglide said. "You can get a great protein like hanger steak, chicken breast or Columbia River steelhead, and then you have a selection of seasonal sides that you can choose from."

After customers select a protein, they can choose a sauce like chimichurri or a miso ginger glaze, and then add veggies or grains like grilled broccoli or toasted farro and savory herbs to round things out.

MIXT's Fillmore location will debut with a fall menu, with plans to introduce turkey breast and create a Thanksgiving-inspired salad. Silverglide noted that the offerings will update on a seasonal basis.

The sides on offer change with the season, too, and will include items like roasted Brussels sprouts, quinoa with roasted purple cauliflower and more. A full menu is available online.

"We want this to be a place where people can go to get a really healthy meal that’s easy, affordable, customizable and made with high-quality ingredients," Silverglide said.

The Cow Hollow location will feature kombucha bar with three organic options on tap, along with cold brew coffees and iced nitro chai teas.

Indoor and outdoor seating is available, and customers on the go have the option of using the chain's MIXT app for speedy service.

To welcome neighbors, MIXT is hosting a grand opening celebration on Saturday 1–5pm, handing out free artisan Bliss Pops popsicles to all who stop by.

The first 500 guests to "check in" to MIXT on social media and purchase an item, will get a tote bag with special offers from Pressed Juicery and Equinox, so come early.

MIXT is open daily 11am–9pm.
