This year, the Union Square ice rink celebrates its tenth anniversary. Open from 10am to 11:30pm until January 15th, the rink offers patrons 90 minutes of skating time, with new sessions starting every hour.

The rink is holding special events, including skating lessons, Drag Queens on Ice, a Silent Disco Skate Party, and 80's-themed Flashback Fridays.

Emily Naud, a Detroit native who's lived in San Francisco for 20 years, told Hoodline she loved skating "because it takes me back to my childhood in the Midwest. My birthday is in December too, so it brings the nostalgia of the winter holiday season to San Francisco."

General admission, which includes skate rental, is $18 for adults and $13 for children eight and under; locker rentals are $3. Tickets are available via Eventbrite.
