Grab your ugly holiday sweater, load your glue gun and prepare to get crafty this weekend.

Bayview businesses, artisans and organizations are working together to keep the holiday spirit alive in the neighborhood with several craft and DIY-themed community events this weekend.

On Friday night, Urban Farmgirls will stay open late for its annual Ugly Sweater holiday party, featuring live music by La Clandestina Bay and a holiday feast prepared by Bayview based food crafter Barbara Nealon of Meitheal Meats.

A variety of neighborhood artisans will also be on board to help attendees assemble homemade holiday gifts.

With multiple events, Saturday promises several opportunities for creating your own gift or purchasing from local makers.

Starting at 11:30am, head to the Linda Brooks Burton Library for holiday wreath making; materials will be provided. Those interested are encouraged to RSVP

Later that same day, Laughing Monk will host its first annual Maker’s Faire, featuring over 20 local makers. A portion of the event's proceeds will benefit the 3rd St. Youth Clinic.

Finally, make or purchase holiday gifts at tie-dye night at Honey Art Studio and glassblowing during Hot Glass/Cold beer at Public Glass
