If you've got Indian on the mind, a recent opening is need-to-know. Called Dosa Allee, the fresh addition is located at 1020 Market St. (between Golden Gate Ave & Taylor St) in Mid-Market.

This newcomer—located in the former Show Dogs space, which shuttered earlier this year—features classic North and South Indian fare, with dosas and curry dishes at the forefront.

On the menu, expect to see an array of dosas (thin, crisp fermented lentil pancakes) filled with ingredients like veggies, masala, palak paneer, chicken, and egg.

For curries and other specialties, look for dishes like a "daal of the day," aloo gobi (spiced cauliflower and potatoes), lamb curry, and chicken tikka masala.

Rounding things out are desserts like ras malai (rice cheesecake) and gulab jamun. (You can check out the full menu here.)

With a 3.5-star rating out of six reviews on Yelp so far, the new arrival has gotten a decent response.

Eric L., who was among the first Yelpers to review the new spot on December 11th, said: "Dosa Allee is a fantastic addition to the mid-Market area. The menu offers both North and South Indian food."

Yelper Dawn B. added: “The restaurant has very reasonable food prices, adequate space, and a good amount of standard options like dosa, daal of the day, curry, and a chana masala."

Interested? Stop by to welcome the new business to the neighborhood. Dosa Allee is open Monday–Saturday from 11am–10pm, and Sunday from 11am–9pm.
