Three Upper Haight merchants are kicking off the holiday season with dedicated shopping nights and receptions that offer a mix of discounts, drinks, and live music:

Fluevog Shoes With John Fluevog 20th Anniversary

Tonight from 5-9pm, Fluevog Shoes (1697 Haight St. between Cole and Belvedere) is celebrating its 20th anniversary with an appearance by John Fluevog himself.

The shop is celebrating with special, limited-edition Haight Ashbury shoes and an array of refreshments for attendees.

Ambiance Holiday Customer Appreciation Party

This Thursday, December 7 from 5-9pm, Ambiance (1458 Haight St. between Ashbury and Masonic) is offering an array of discounts, raffle prizes, and other goodies for people coming out to kick off the season's shopping.

Booksmith & Bindery Shopping Nights

At the Booksmith (1644 Haight St. between Cole and Clayton) and the Bindery (1727 Haight St.)—where this writer also works—the evenings of December 12 and 19 will be dedicated to seasonal recommendations with expert booksellers available for recommendations from 6 to 9pm.

There will be cocktails, drinks, and snacks available for sale, as well as a smattering of local guest vendors, live music, and other surprises.
