A man was transported to a hospital early this morning after multiple men and women attacked him in North Beach with pepper spray and stole his cell phone, police have reported.

The incident occurred near the corner of Broadway and Columbus Avenue around 3:20 am when a 42-year-old man who was standing on the sidewalk was approached by three men and three women, all in their twenties.

The group assaulted him before one of the suspects pepper-sprayed the victim and stole his phone. All of the suspects reportedly got into a single unidentified vehicle and fled eastbound on Broadway.

The victim was treated for non-life-threatening injuries, and no arrests have been made in the case.
