Here's a roundup of notable crimes reported in the Tenderloin since our last edition. All details are drawn from SFPD daily reports, unless otherwise noted.

Victim loses laptop after verbal argument

A 50-year-old man was walking on Leavenworth Street near Golden Gate Avenue when two men said to be in their forties approached him and a verbal argument ensued.

The victim doesn’t remember what happened next, but he was injured and his backpack and laptop were missing when police arrived. No arrest has been made.

Three assailants attack man from behind

Three men approached a 58-year-old male from behind around 11:00pm on February 5th near the intersection of 6th and Mission streets.

One of the suspects grabbed the victim while the other two stole his wallet, ID cards, money, and transit card. The suspects fled northbound on 6th Street and have not been identified.

Unknown man stabs victim with unknown weapon

Around 4:03pm on February 5th, a 26-year-old man was approached on the 300 block of Ellis Street by an unknown male suspect who stabbed him with an unknown weapon. No robbery was reported, and no arrest has been made. 

Argument leads to stabbing

A 53-year-old man and a man said to be in his late twenties were arguing near the intersection of Eddy and Polk streets around 11:55pm on February 4th, when the younger man stabbed the victim and fled. The suspect has not been identified.

Victim punched, robbed by unknown suspect

An unknown male suspect hit a 66-year-old man near the intersection of Turk and Leavenworth streets at 12:30pm on February 4th. The suspect stole the man’s wallet, fled the scene and remains at large. 

Construction workers detain intruder

A 33-year-old man was at a construction site on the 400 block of Taylor Street around 8:22am on February 3rd with co-workers when he noticed a 26-year-old man who was not supposed to be in the area. 

The worker approached and detained the suspect, who pulled out a knife and threatened the victim before other construction workers subdued the suspect until police arrived. No injuries were reported. 

Man knocked out with unknown object

Around 8:30am on February 2nd, a 54-year-old man was walking near the intersection of 5th and Market streets when he was struck on the back of his head with an unknown object.

The victim didn’t remember anything else and was treated at the hospital for non-life-threatening injuries. 

Man arrested after pushing woman down stairs

A 52-year-old man pushed a 34-year-old woman down stairs around 1:21pm on January 30th near the intersection of Mason and Market streets, causing injury.

Police arrived on scene and arrested the man.

Man slashed with box cutter after argument

Two men, one 64 and one said to be in his twenties, got into an argument around 12:20am on January 30th near the intersection of 7th and Market streets.

The suspect pulled out a box cutter and slashed the older man before fleeing in an unknown direction. 

Woman arrested after stealing money, punching man

A 47-year-old woman asked a 51-year-old man for money at 4:00pm on January 29th near the intersection of 6th and Market streets.

When the man removed his wallet from his pocket, the woman snatched it from his hand. When the victim tried to recover his property, the suspect punched him and fled, but was later arrested.

Man injured after insulting suspect

Sometime between 3:00am and 3:40am on January 29th, a 19-year-old man was having a conversation with a man said to be in his late twenties near the intersection of Ellis and Larkin streets.

The younger man offended the suspect, who had a knife and slashed at the victim. The victim was injured when he raised his hand to defend himself. No arrest has been made. 

Woman arrested after assaulting man for money

Around 2:25am on January 29th, a 25-year-old woman asked a 37-year-old man for money near the intersection of Turk and Taylor streets. She assaulted the man and demanded he hand over his wallet before fleeing west on Turk Street. The suspect was later arrested. 

Man robbed after woman lured him with cigarette

Between 1:30am or 1:45am on January 28th, a woman said to be in her twenties approached a 27-year-old man near the intersection of Leavenworth and Turk streets and offered him a cigarette.

A man in his thirties then hit the victim from behind and stole his wallet, money and cellphone. Both suspects fled on foot and have not been identified. 

Man robbed at gunpoint on Muni platform

A 57-year-old man was on a Muni platform near the intersection of 8th and Market streets around 6:30pm on January 27th when an unknown male in his teens robbed him at gunpoint.

The victim handed over his money and shoes, and no arrest has been made.
