Oakland A's Negotiations for Las Vegas Stadium Collapsing In Nevada Legislature

The Oakland A's quest for a shiny new Las Vegas stadium has turned into something of a tragicomedy. With the team's on-field performance sinking to potentially historic depths, A's management figured it would be a good time to beg the Nevada legislature for a whopping $395 million in taxpayer money. But in classic A's fashion, team president Dava Kaval is failing spectacularly at making his case.

One particularly cringe-worthy exchange between Kaval and Nevada state Senator Fabian Doñate went viral, highlighting the evasiveness of the A's front office when it comes to committing to important community-oriented contributions such as paying the live entertainment tax. In fact, Doñate even schooled Kaval in front of the entire Nevada legislature, a deeply embarrassing moment for the already struggling franchise.

Now, to put the cherry on top of this disastrous sundae, reports are surfacing that the A's don't have the necessary votes in the Nevada legislature to secure the taxpayer money they so desperately want.
