With Halloween fast approaching, the city of Oakland is gearing up for its 5th Annual OPD Trunk or Treat event, a unique spin on the traditional trick-or-treating experience. Scheduled for October 31, between 3:00 PM and 5:00 PM at Verdese Carter Park, the event aims to provide a free, fun, and family-friendly environment for residents and their children, according to the Oakland Police Department announcement.

Organized by the Oakland Police Department (OPD), the Trunk or Treat initiative focuses on creating a safe space for young trick-or-treaters. It encourages local businesses and organizations to join forces with OPD and dedicate a decorated vehicle for the event, along with a staffed resource table for direct community engagement. The goal is to enable children to safely collect candy from participating vehicles while fostering a sense of unity and camaraderie among Oakland citizens.
