Apple Valley Urges Residents to Conceal Trash Bins When Not in Collection to Maintain Tidy NeighborhoodsSource: Unsplash / {Rivage}

Apple Valley reminds everyone to keep their trash bins out of sight unless it's collection day. According to a recent civic alert from the City of Apple Valley's website, all garbage, recycling, and yard waste containers should be stored within structures, screened from view if stored in the side yard, or stashed in the back yard when not placed out for collection.

The local ordinance isn't too picky about how residents hide their bins, with a range of acceptable solutions. Some residents choose to park their containers inside the garage, while others cleverly use landscaping and fencing to keep the bins out of sight. The city even offers a variety of screening ideas for those in need of inspiration. It's essential, however, that whatever method is used, should adequately block the view of the containers from neighbors and those passing by.

The city's website also says containers should be placed behind the curb and never on the street, ensuring they don't become obstacles in the public right of way. Trash haulers will return bins to their designated spot post-collection. Residents can start rolling out their containers as early as 6:00 P.M. the night before the trash is scheduled to be picked up.
