Downtown Hayward Set to Burst Into Color with Cinco de Mayo CelebrationsSource: City of Hayward

Cinco de Mayo is returning its annual fiesta to town on May 4. The streets of downtown are set to turn into a vibrant tapestry of culture and color, all kicking off at the hallmark intersection of B and Main Streets.

The festivities rev up at 10 a.m. where attendees can expect a lively lineup with Balé Folclórico groups hitting the stage and Mariachi Los Halcones de Oakland serenading the crowd. As the day progresses, people can groove to the tunes of bands like Third Sol and Prieto & The Mirage Band. This year's free, family-oriented bash is brought to the masses by La Alianza de Hayward. It wouldn't be happening without a little help from One Subaru of Hayward, the City of Hayward, and the Hayward Chamber of Commerce, and other generous local businesses.

The fun doesn't stop with music and dance. Gearheads will get their fix, too, with car, bicycle, and pedal car showcases. Those with a sharp set of wheels are welcome to register their rides for the car show for $30, and anyone with a bike or pedal car can show off their quirky cruisers for just $10.

Event-goers also have arts and crafts to look forward to, along with an array of food and beverage options that promise to be delish. If you're looking for more details, head over to the La Alianza de Hayward event page, where you’ll find the more information.
