In a play for convenience and accessibility, the county’s advanced voting period spans three weeks, featuring extended hours and weekend availability at several locations. The advance voting kicks off from April 29 to May 3, with sites open 7:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. Monday through Friday. The weekend of May 4 will observe Saturday hours from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., while May 5 will see select locations operate for Sunday voting from noon to 5 p.m. Among the selected spots are the Main Office, North Cobb Senior Center, East Cobb Government Center, West Cobb Senior Center, and South Cobb Community Center.
Voters looking for a head start on eleventh-hour decision-making can take advantage of the subsequent Monday-through-Friday stretch, from May 6 to May 10 and again from May 13 to May 17, maintaining that welcomed 7:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. window. Once again pleasing those who might miss out on weekday voting, Saturday, May 11 and Sunday, May 12, will follow the previous weekend's hours, with the latter featuring the same select locations for those wishing to exercise their democratic participation on the day of rest.
Residents will find they have a pause in their chance to make their voices heard, as there will be an imposing no voting period from May 18 to May 20, right before the Election Day stampede on Tuesday. Cobb County emphasizes that on the big day, May 21, voters must swing by their assigned polling place, which will be open from the familiar 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. Slotting this into their calendars, citizens can not only beat the queues but help shape their community.
