Austin Police Department (APD) officers were dispatched to a call of gunfire at The Villas Del Sol apartments on Rutland Drive Sunday night. The residence, nestled in the 1700 block of Rutland Drive, became a crime scene at approximately 8:37 p.m. after reports of shots fired alarmed the neighborhood.

Upon arrival, emergency responders found a male suffering from gunshot wounds. The victim, identified as Lowen Alberto Ordonez Lobo, was attended to by Austin-Travis County Emergency Medical Services, but despite efforts to save his life, he was pronounced dead at the scene shortly after at 8:49 p.m., according to the Austin Police Department.

APD's Homicide detectives and Crime Scene Specialists swarmed the scene to gather evidence and piece together the moments that led up to the tragic event. Witnesses were interviewed as part of an intense investigation into the murder of Lobo.
