Montgomery County police are on the hunt for a prolific thief who's been hitting the same Amazon Fresh store in Chevy Chase repeatedly over the past six months, racking up a hefty tab in stolen goods. According to the official police statement, the suspect has made off with roughly $7,000 worth of merchandise from the grocery location situated in the 5400 block of Wisconsin Ave.

The shoplifter has managed to deliberately avoid getting caught, striking the Amazon Fresh on 36 different occasions between October of last year and April 18. Police are now turning to the public, hoping tips will help to swiftly bring the suspect to justice. Local residents and shoppers are being urged to cast a careful eye on provided surveillance images and help identify the individual responsible for the thefts.

Much of the information surrounding the thefts has been kept under wraps as the investigation continues.
