Randolph Community Rallies After Devastating Blaze Leaves Nearly 80 Homeless Source: Google Street View

A devastating fire engulfed an apartment building in Randolph, Massachusetts, leaving scores of residents homeless. Randolph Fire Department responded to emergency calls at the Bridle Path Circle complex around 6 p.m. Sunday, wrestling with the inferno well into the night. According to a NBC10 Boston report, the acting fire chief described multiple structural collapses, including the roof and walls.

The blaze, which proved quickly to rapidly spread, was magnified by the absence of an internal sprinkler system, as confirmed by officials. Images captured by onlookers showed vivid flames and heavy smoke looming large against the evening sky. "All of a sudden it’s like the fire spread so enormously it was like I couldn’t believe it. It was like someone poured gasoline on top of the roof," Margharita, a resident displaced by the fire, told Boston 25 News.

The incident forced nearly 80 residents to evacuate, leaving them without shelter. The Red Cross stepped in to assist those affected. One young man, in his 20s, was reportedly forced to dive off a second-story balcony to escape the flames before firefighters could reach him with a ladder, suffering minor burns.

In the aftermath, Randolph Police Department urged the community to avoid the heavily impacted areas, alerting of significant smoke and lowered water pressure. A resident lamented the personal losses incurred, "It hurts because I work hard for everything I have and losing everything it’s painful. I have no clothes. My kids have no clothes," she said to Boston 25 News. Investigations into the cause of the fire are ongoing, as firefighters remained vigilant on the scene to control potential hot spots.
