An explosion rocked a Nashville special effects company Wednesday morning, injuring three workers and causing a gas leak. According to WKRN, the incident took place at Strictly FX, a company known for its pyrotechnics and laser shows.

Reports from the scene at 120 Airpark Center Drive indicated that 8 to 10 employees were near a box full of combustible equipment when it exploded. The Nashville Fire Department stated that three employees sustained non-critical injuries during the blast, including cuts from glass fragments and a possible eardrum damage, WSMV reported. These individuals were taken to the Vanderbilt University Medical Center for treatment.

Following the explosion, which also ruptured a gas line associated with the building's heating system, HAZMAT teams and the gas company responded to address a resulting natural gas leak. According to FOX17, crews worked to ventilate the area and ensure that levels of natural gas returned to normal, preventing further risk to the public or first responders.

Cause of the explosion is currently under investigation, as teams from multiple agencies arrived on the scene to begin their initial inquiries. The staff of Strictly FX has not released any additional information regarding the incident or the status of the injured employees. Nashville Fire Department officials emphasized that, aside from the three who were hospitalized, no other civilian or NFD personnel were hurt in the accident.
