A tragic car crash in Coral Springs, Florida, has left a 6-year-old girl dead after a man attempting to evade police slammed into her family's vehicle. Coral Springs Police said the girl, whose identity has not been released, was ejected from her car seat following the horrific collision at the intersection of West Sample Road and Northwest 85th Avenue.

Authorities detailed that Chevon Dalton Graham, 26, was fleeing from an officer who attempted to stop him over his car's "extremely dark tint," according to Local10. Despite the officer ceasing the chase, Graham reportedly continued at high speeds, causing the fatal crash. The officer had initially turned off his pursuit lights and siren before, the crash occurred.

Graham, who was driving a 2023 Mercedes-Benz with two passengers, was arrested and charged with several crimes, including vehicular homicide, aggravated fleeing and eluding causing death, and reckless driving property damage, Local10 reported. The Coral Springs resident has since been held on a $226,000 bond and could face further constraints, including surrendering his passport and agreeing to electronic monitoring if he posts bail.

Graham was previously cited for a traffic violation as recent, as January 24 for speeding. The severity of Sunday's incident, however, marks a stark escalation in his history of road-related offenses, according to Broward court records obtained by Local10. The aftermath of the crash has rocked the local community, prompting calls for witnesses with any information to come forward and speak with Traffic Homicide Investigator Xavier Reinoso, as mentioned in a WSVN report.

The young girl was airlifted to Broward Health Medical Center where she later died from her injuries, the crash also resulted in non-life-threatening injuries for other individuals involved.
