A storefront in La Cañada Flintridge became an impromptu drive-thru on Wednesday morning when a car plowed into the front of a See's Candies shop. According to authorities, the crash happened around 9:30 a.m. at the chocolate store located at 1133 Foothill Boulevard.

The Los Angeles County Fire Department responded to the scene, confirming that a blue or gray Toyota sedan had smashed into the shop. SkyFOX footage revealed a shattered façade, with doors and glass left in disarray, FoxLA reports. Despite the mess, the driver managed to get out of the vehicle before authorities arrived, and, there were no injuries necessitating hospital transfers.

Crews worked diligently to extricate the car from the candy store's wreckage and had the vehicle out by approximately 10:20 a.m. In the interim, curious and concerned onlookers watched as the team assessed the structural integrity of the candy boutique.

The driver, who remained on scene, is reportedly in contact with law enforcement officials as they investigate the incident. The exact motive behind the crash still remains a question, but thankfully, no injuries have been reported stemming from the unexpected collision, according to KTLA. The store, meanwhile, faces a closure that will last through cleanup and repair operations, casting a brief shadow over what is typically a haven for lovers of sweets and confections.
