Chaos erupted at a south Houston gas station Friday night when shots rang out, leaving four people wounded in an act of senseless violence. The incident occurred at 11:15 p.m. on the 7100 block of Cullen Avenue, where according to Click2Houston, three vehicles were involved in a slow cruise close to a convenience store before opening fire on the crowd.
The aftermath was a scene of desperation as three men in their 20s had to quickly make their way to a nearby fire station, seeking out help to barely cling onto life. The fourth victim, a woman in her 20s, took it upon herself to drive to another gas station, where she was treated by the Houston Fire Department. The Houston Police tweeted that three people were shot and described their condition as stable. They also confirmed that the suspect had fled the scene, no doubt in an effort to quickly vanish into the night.
Detailed descriptions of the suspect vehicles were provided: a maroon Chrysler, a white Altima, and a black Charger. In a stark reminder of the crime, shell casings were found scattered at the scene. Although all injuries were reported as non-life-threatening, the attack has doubtlessly left its mark on the community and the victims themselves.
