The savory scents of authentic Mexican cuisine are soon to permanently waft through the streets of Santa Clarita, as Hilarios Tacos gears up to turn its mobile food venture into a stationary feast. The popular food truck, known for dishing out fresh tacos and an array of Mexican delicacies, is laying down roots at 28440 Haskell Canyon Rd. with a brick-and-mortar eatery expected to open by mid-June.

After a successful run with home deliveries, catering services, and a food truck that hit the streets in 2022, the Bacilio family decided it was time to to swiftly expand into a full-fledged restaurant. Lorena Bacilio, co-owner of Hilarios Tacos, expressed excitement about the new venture in an interview with What Now Los Angeles. "This is the second year we have the food trailer and decided that it’s time to also open a restaurant. When the location became available we jumped on it," she remarked.

The menu, curated by Chef Hilario, promises to boast a variety of Mexican staples. Tacos, quesadillas, burritos, and a slew of other traditional dishes are set to be served up to the Santa Clarita crowd. The birria is being touted as their signature dish, and dining experience is accentuated with flavorful drinks like horchata and pineapple agua frescas.

Adding to the casual dining vibe, the new establishment is fashioned as a counter service where patrons can grab a plate without putting too big a dent in their wallets - most dishes will hover around the $12-$15 mark. In a statement aimed to tempt the taste buds of locals, Lorena said, "I hope everybody comes out to taste our food, it’s a must try!" as recounted by What Now Los Angeles.
