A man accused of gunning down another in a dispute has been slapped with murder charges, after being cuffed by Houston cops earlier this week. Reginald Dewayne Howard, 51, is facing the grim music for allegedly shooting Pelatiah Moore, 40, during an April 23 altercation at an apartment complex on 5610 Royal Palms Street. The violent confrontation, which popped off around 6:30 p.m., left Moore dead from multiple gunshot wounds, authorities said.

Following the deadly spat, Moore was rushed to the hospital by paramedics, but it was a race against the reaper he wouldn't win. He was later pronounced dead, confirmed the Houston Police Department Homicide Division Detectives L. Brooks and C. Davidson, as detailed in a statement acquired by City of Houston News. A preliminary probe along with yaps from witnesses led the law to Howard, who was taken into custody without a hitch on April 29 by the HPD Southeast Patrol Division Crime Suppression Team.

Cops initially said the shooter was a black male, 40 to 45 years old, who left the scene in a gleaming silver sedan driven by a black woman with a sharp hairdo and spectacles. That woman was hunted down, grilled by investigators, and let go, dodging any charges.

City of Houston News reported, Howard's mugshot has been tacked on to the news release, like a grim stamp on a letter nobody wants to receive. He now waits behind bars, charged in the 179th State District Court with ending Moore's life prematurely. The narrative of the murder is still unfolding, and Howard's day in court is yet to be scheduled.
