Houston Police are currently investigating a grave incident that led to the death of a 29-year-old woman following a car crash last Friday night on Katy Freeway. The identity of the victim, who was behind the wheel at the time of the horrifying collision, is yet to be confirmed by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.

According to cityofhouston.news, the driver was maneuvering a gray Nissan Juke in the westbound lanes, near 4800 Katy Freeway when she suddenly lost control. The vehicle, swerving at what is described as a high rate of speed, smashed into the concrete median, resulting in catastrophic consequences.

The aftermath of the crash was devastating. Alongside the female driver, a 4-year-old boy, a passenger in the vehicle, was also hurt. Both were rushed to a local hospital. There, the woman's fight for life came to a tragic halt — she was pronounced dead. Fortuitously, the young passenger survived, his condition was described as stable with what appeared to be minor injuries.

City officials have disclosed that no other vehicles appear to be involved in the incident. The HPD Vehicular Crimes Division, spearheaded by Sergeant M. Sudduth and Officer C. Moralez, is digging into the details, to unearth the cause of this unfortunate event.
