Neighbors' feud on the north side of San Antonio escalated into a violent shootout yesterday morning, according to police statements. The San Antonio Police were called to a scene of chaos on the 1000 block of Ridgewood Court, where two men – one in his 20s and another in his 40s – took their ongoing dispute to a deadly level, as KENS 5 reported.

According to authorities, a verbal altercation turned physical when both individuals, yelling from a house and a truck respectively, resorted to firearms. Armed and exchanging gunfire, the younger man was seen fleeing after the older man, while sat in his truck, was struck multiple times. In spite of his injuries, the victim managed to drive home and call emergency services for aid.

The younger suspect, who had initially vanished from the scene, later came back and was apprehended by law enforcement. "Police say they recovered his weapon and he was taken into custody," as per KENS 5. The apprehended man's firearm was recovered at the scene.

With the older man hospitalized in serious condition, witnesses have pointed to a history of confrontations between the two men. Members of the San Antonio Forensic Science Executive (SAFE) Unit, familiar with the area's disputes, have reported multiple calls to this particular block in the past.

No further details have been disclosed by authorities as the investigation remains ongoing.
